POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst provides analysis of key performance metrics to assist the property leadership team in improving financial and operational results. The analyst facilitates management’s understanding of operating trends, financial results, and other aspects of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews and consolidates information to prepare standard daily, weekly, and monthly statistical and operating reports
  • Summarized and distributes analytical reports to leaders
  • Assists in the preparation of the property operating and capital budgets and forecasts
  • Assists and trains the property departments in the correct and timely use of the Checkbook, Financial Statements, and labor analysis reports
  • Works closely with all Departmental leaders to identify areas of improvement for any department and will often be required to support and contribute expertise to projects relating to the achievement of property business, guest service, and financial goals
  • Reviews financial statements and schedules, assists with completion of reporting on variances
  • Prepares and analyzes capital projects, including status tracking, variance analysis and ROI analysis
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting. Gaming experience highly preferred.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a State Gaming License
  • Strong understanding of statistics, budgets, forecasts, and financial statements
  • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook). Must have advanced experience in Excel, and prefer experience in SQL.
  • Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must have the ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations based upon trends
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; must be able to meet required deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
